Kambala 2011 dates

Hope you have enjoyed my post onKambala: The race of the buffaloes  ( read it if you haven’t ) 

Kamabala dates are out now. So here is the calendar.

December 4: Babrana- Kumble, Kerala (Pumani – Kinnimani)
December 10: Baradi – Karkala
December 17: Hokkadigoli
December 25: Mulki Seeme Arasu Kambala
December 31: Venur- Permude
January 7 2012: Miyar – Karkala
January 15: Pilikula
January 21: Moodbidri
January 28: Katpady
February 4: Aikala Bhava, near Kinnigoli
February 11:Nandikur, near Padubidri
February 18: Fajir / Kellaputtige
February 25: Edu, near Hosmar in Karkala taluk
March 4: Puttur
March 10: Jappinamogaru in Mangalore
March 18: Uppinangady
March 24: Bangady
March 31: Talapady

And one more thing. This year also I am planning to visit one or two Kambala. If you want to join me for this event for some photography fun  you are most  welcome.I will be happy to share what I know. Email me at dmhmaneer ( at)  gmail.com . I will post the details in this area.

  2. the kambala of december 4th is cancelled.. kambala season starts on december 10th, baradi being the first.. this is not the final list.. there is a slight change in the venue of January 15 and february 11 kambala.. the list is yet to be finalised with that change.. will keep you informed about the change..

  3. Hi Dinesh, First, thanks for sharing this info.
    I came to know some Kambla events run all/late night, by any chance would you know which one of the events are held this way? Also would you have any contacts of the organizing committee through which i could get more information?

      most of them run whole night on Saturdays. Puttur Kambala is next biggest which I am visiting most probabaly, let me know what else you need
